Vakera House Add an Object

Since 1870, there was the bakery Štegers' homestead, which the farmers used as a market place. The Korovin store was located here, which was the first to obtain a trading permit, hence the street acquired the name of Tirgoņu Street. Until the fire in 1913, there were summer houses, sheds, and a cellar belonging to L. Vakeram. There was a bakery and several shops. In 1914, a three-story brick house with a shop, hotel, restaurant, and city bank was built. In 1952, a fish shop with paintings by artist O. Stankēvičs was arranged on the first floor. In 1999, the interior was covered, and a game room was installed. The building is an architectural monument.
