Monument to Wilhelm Ostwald Add an Object
WilhelmOstwald (German: Wilhelm Ostwald; 1853. September 2. April 4) was a Baltic German chemistand philosopher, a member of the student corporation Fraternitas Rigensis (a fraternity for non-academic members). He is the only one born and worked in Latvia and received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1909 for his research on catalysis and the exploration of fundamental principles related to chemical equilibrium and reaction rates.
