1188 Creates an Electronic Map of Latvian Attractions

As the warm season begins, people are paying increasingly more attention to planning their leisure time and holidays, as evidenced by the fact that, during the second quarter, the 1188 Directory Service saw a significant increase in demand for tourism information—guesthouses, hotels, catering establishments, as well as active recreation opportunities. Overall, during this period the 1188 Directory Service answered more than 300,000 calls.

In response to the interest of Latvia’s residents, the 1188 Directory Service has developed an electronic map of Latvian attractions that is also convenient to use on mobile devices and features all the most notable tourist destinations. The map brings together the most significant tourist attractions, as well as accommodation establishments, cafés and restaurants, shops, and active recreation providers.

“In view of the great interest, we have created a convenient online solution—a map featuring Latvia’s most popular tourist attractions.  The information compiled on it will be relevant to all residents, especially during the holiday season, when many people travel to the countryside, spend time in nature, or simply explore the most beautiful places in Latvia,” says Agnese Paegle, Chief Executive Officer of SIA Lattelecom BPO.
