Donor Days in Jēkabpils on 14 and 28 April
DONOR DAYS at Jēkabpils Regional Hospital on 14 and 28 April!
Blood donors will be welcomed in the hospital’s conference hall on the 4th floor (please note that the entrance to the inpatient hospital building is from the courtyard side—on the right of the admissions department).
The situation with blood supplies is changing rapidly, so your help is needed every day! We ask donors to act responsibly and observe all safety measures to protect themselves, other donors and medical staff!
You can become a blood donor if you:
- are between 18 and 65 years old
- weigh at least 50 kg
- have not consumed alcohol on the day before donating blood
- have eaten, slept well, rested and feel well
- are healthy and have not been ill recently
- have eaten a healthy diet and drunk plenty of fluids beforehand
- have not donated blood for at least 9 weeks and have not already donated 4 times during the past 12 months (for women) or 6 times (for men; after the 6th donation, men must observe a 3-month interval).
Donors must bring a valid identity document (a passport, identity card (eID) or any other identity document containing the following information: personal identification number, given name, surname and photograph). Donors will not be accepted without an identity document.
You may donate blood if:
- the donor feels well and is confident about their state of health;
- they have not been in contact during the past 14 days with people suspected of having Covid-19;
- they meet all the required criteria; more information is available on the VADC website;
- people who have recovered from Covid-19 may donate blood 14 days after fully recovering;
- after receiving the second dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech “Comirnaty” or Moderna mRNA vaccine, 14 days must elapse before blood can be donated;
- after receiving the second dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca viral-vector vaccine, 28 days must elapse before blood can be donated.
