On Wednesday, 3 March, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a blood donor day will take place at Jelgava Municipality Council, 37 Pasta Street, in support of the State Blood Donor Centre (VADC), which, strictly observing all distancing and safety measures, provides assistance that is so important to residents and invites people to donate blood in order to help someone. According to international recommendations, blood donation is not considered a mass gathering, but is supported and encouraged during this challenging period as well.
Information on the Jelgava Municipality website indicates that, by joining the blood donation movement, everyone has the opportunity to help people in distress who need blood.  One donated unit of blood can help as many as three people.

The VADC draws attention to the following:

2)Current incidence figures for countries can be viewed on the  website of the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).
3)People who have recovered from COVID-19 may donate blood 28 days after fully recovering.

You may donate blood if:
1)you feel well and are confident in your state of health;
2)you have not been in contact during the past 14 days with people suspected of having COVID-19;
3)you meet all the necessary criteria; more information is available on the VADC website.
