Continuing the series of sports initiatives, we are offering Jelgava residents a set of morning exercise sessions entitled "Jelgava, wake up!". From 10 May, at 7 a.m. on five weekday mornings, everyone interested will have the opportunity to wake up their body with an approximately 15-minute online morning exercise session in the Facebook group "Jelgava sporto".

"Last year, as part of the sports challenge programme during the Jelgava City Festival, we offered Jelgava residents the idea of starting the day with morning exercise, which not only helps one wake up but also provides an energy boost. This year, we are continuing to promote the idea of exercising in the morning, inviting Jelgava residents to include morning exercise in their daily schedule and make it a habit," says Aļona Fomenko, a sports event organiser at the Jelgava City Municipality institution "Sports Service Centre".

This year, each morning exercise session will have its own unique atmosphere:

- 10 May at 7 a.m. – "Energy": we start the week energetically,

- 11 May at 7 a.m. – "Flow": we smoothly continue the working week,

- 12 May at 7 a.m. – "Party": Wednesday is a little Friday,

- 13 May at 7 a.m. – "Strength": we gather our strength for the rest of the week,

- 14 May at 7 a.m. – "Relax": release the stress after the working week.

The morning exercise sessions will be led by Anete Rone, a category B fitness trainer with more than ten years of experience. Since 2015, she has worked under her own brand, "OzoFit", and since 2019, she has participated in the project "Health Promotion in Jelgava". She says of herself: "I lead every training session with joy because I am truly fortunate – my work is my hobby. I am also very happy about every active resident of Jelgava who, despite the current circumstances, continues to exercise – outdoors in person, at home or remotely – because physical activity should be part of every person’s daily schedule. My motto is: live here and now. And do not put off until tomorrow what you can do today – including a training session!"

The sports initiative "Jelgava, wake up!" is the 7th initiative in the "I’ll Be Active" series. This series is a gift from the "Sports Service Centre" to Jelgava residents on the institution’s 20th anniversary. It plans to offer Jelgava residents 20 sports initiatives throughout the year. To make all the information about the "I’ll Be Active" series available in one place, the Facebook group "Jelgava sporto" has been created. It is public, and everyone interested is invited to join. Information about the series’ activities is also published both in the "Sports Service Centre" section of the www.jelgava.lv website and on the institution’s social media accounts.

The Jelgava City Municipality institution "Sports Service Centre" was established on 2 August 2001.
