A new building wing has been constructed for Ādaži Primary School

A new building now stands next to the main building of Ādaži Primary School, constructed last year! A new wing has been built for specialised subject classrooms. The new rooms are arranged across two floors, and furniture is currently being installed in them.  The new wing will contain two classrooms for learning computer science skills, two each for music, science and visual arts, three classrooms for learning foreign languages, as well as classrooms for exploring the world of design and technology. The new wing will also include a kitchen for home economics lessons and a special room for physical activities— aerobics, exercise, rhythmic movement classes, dancing, judo and other sports and developmental activities. Several auxiliary and utility rooms have also been built in the new wing for storing teaching materials and other household supplies. An outdoor classroom, the “Green Classroom”, has also been built, where children will be able to plant various plants and observe how their own plantings grow stronger and flourish.

The construction costs amounted to EUR 2,203,272.95 excluding VAT. The construction work was carried out by SIA “Monum” as part of the project “Improving the Learning Environment of General Education Institutions in Ādaži Municipality”, funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Construction supervision was provided by SIA “Marčuks”, while author’s supervision was provided by SIA “Nams”.
