Cyclists Invited to Take Part in the Latvian Cycling Festival in Olaine

Next month, on 21 August, the large-scale Latvian Cycling Festival will take place in Olaine for the second year in a row. Every professional cyclist and cycling enthusiast is invited to take part. Participants will be able to choose from five exciting routes suitable not only for road cyclists but also for mountain bikers, as well as families and children. Alongside the competitions, festival participants will also be able to enjoy a wide-ranging entertainment programme, spending Sunday in a positive and uplifting atmosphere.

In the Sports Road Race (100 km), participants will complete one lap along the Riga–Jelgava highway, passing through the city of Jelgava on the way there and Mārupe on the way back. The route of the Public Road Race (45 km) will run from Olaine along the old Jelgava highway to Mārupe and back to Olaine via the Babīte–Salaspils highway. Unlike the road routes, the MTB route (42 km) will run through forests and along country roads and will be a challenge even for the most experienced mountain bikers. The Family Route (6 km) parade will leisurely pass through the city of Olaine, delighting local supporters, while the Children’s Ride (0.5–1 km) will allow even the youngest festival participants to experience the excitement of competition.
