Riga City Council to Give Lilac Seedlings to the Most Active Clean-Up Participants
To encourage Riga residents to take part in cleaning up their surroundings, Riga
City Council is launching a campaign during the Great Cleanup, under which the most active
participants will receive lilac seedlings as gifts.
To receive a lilac seedling, the municipality invites participants to take a photo of the clean-up site before and after the work and post it on social media – Facebook or Instagram, tagging the municipality’s social media accounts (Facebook – Riga.lv and Instagram – @riga.lv). In total, the municipality will give 50 lilac seedlings to the authors of the most interesting photos.
The Great Cleanup will take place on Saturday, 24 April, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. simultaneously throughout Latvia.
In view of the heightened safety requirements and the current recommendation to maintain social distancing, we invite you to participate in the cleanup as follows:
SOLO cleanups: participate alone, taking a walk in the forest or along the sea, or cleaning up the area around your home;
DUO cleanups: participate in pairs. If you are members of the same household, you may participate together safely; if you are friends or acquaintances, maintain a distance of at least two metres;
FAMILY cleanups: participate as a whole family, but note that you must be members of the same household.
