Animation film 'The Law of the Heart'.

In February 2024, audiences will be able to watch the screen adaptation of writer Jānis Ezeriņš's novel 'The Law of the Heart', based on the motifs of the novel 'The New Law'. In the distant kingdom of the novel, there lives the King and the Princess, who is preparing for her wedding. However, one night, the Princess encounters a Stranger in the palace garden, who bewitches her with an unusual gift. The film also features the Groom, the Prince, the Cat, the evil Wolves, and other characters.

The director of the animation film is Roze Stiebra, while the artist is the renowned painter Aleksejs Naumovs. The film has been nominated for the National Film Award 'Lielais Kristaps' in four categories, including Best Animation Film. 'The Law of the Heart' has been produced by 'Studija Lokomotīve'.

The soundtrack has been composed by Valts Pūce and performed by musicians from the band 'DaGamba', while the theme song of the film has been sung by Grēta Grantiņa. The roles have been voiced by actors from the New Riga Theatre course, including Telma Auziņa, Jānis Ēriks Grūtups, Ritvars Logins, Gerds Lapoška, Marta Lovisa Jančevska, Toms Harjo, and others.

The animation film will be shown in cinemas across Latvia starting from February of this year.
