SOLO EXHIBITION

The exhibition is open to visitors from 7 October 2017.

The exhibition, dominated by the colour blue, presents  impressions of poetic motifs by Aspazija, Baudelaire and  Al-Mu'tamid— portraits and studies. The works in the exhibition are created using cyanotype and pastel techniques.

The female figure predominates in the works; however, the portraits are not documentary accounts. The artist’s style is characterised by a carnival element, perceptible in the mood of the works and their apparent capturing of a fleeting moment. The geography of the works’ creation is interesting—between Riga, Saldus, Liepāja and a little of Andalusia.

The artist holds a master’s degree in art and works in cyanotype, watercolour and pastel; she is also passionate about caricature. Her exhibition practice dates from 2006—she has participated in applied-art exhibitions in cooperation with the “Jaunā mākslas lāde” and “Herschel Group” associations.

The exhibition “Splīns” is artist Anita Zīverte’s first solo exhibition.
