Riga’s foodies kick off the grilling season with a fun burger party

Last Friday evening, 24 May, the cosy courtyard of the K. K. von Strick Villa hosted a grilling party organised by the Hellmann’s brand to mark the opening of the summer season. The event was attended in large numbers by outdoor event enthusiasts of all ages, including media representatives, bloggers and opinion leaders, who enjoyed culinary delights and other fun activities throughout the evening. The burger was chosen as the star of the grilling party, with various versions prepared on site by the event’s ambassadors – food stylist and author of a range of original recipes Linda Vilmansone-Virbule and culinary blogger Kaspars Virsnītis, also known as My Food Blogger. The ever-positive Mārtiņš Kapzems took on the role of event host, while DJ Plastic provided an energetic musical soundtrack.

During the opening part of the summer event, guests could discover six original meat and vegetarian burger recipes, prepared and presented on site by Hellmann’s grilling season ambassadors Linda and Kaspars, who also shared various valuable tips on the culinary arts and grilling. Immediately afterwards, everyone present was \ntreated to delicious, freshly prepared burgers inspired by the recipes created by the ambassadors and made by combining Hellmann’s range of grilling sauces with crispy Fazer Street Food buns and high-quality chicken and beef from the NOO Cepeškungs brand. Throughout the evening, all the foodies could also try their hand at preparing a forest, or campfire, hot dog according to a unique recipe by Linda Vilmansone-Virbule, while enjoying refreshing Mežpils beer and cooling Super Viva ice creams.

At the climax of the grilling party, Mārtiņš Kapzems also invited guests to take part in a special Hellmann’s burger challenge. Working in teams, they not only had to assemble Kaspars Virsnītis’s previously presented mega burger in the correct order, but also identify the flavours of the various Hellmann’s BBQ sauces and finish the meat, mushroom and salmon burgers prepared by Linda and Kaspars within three minutes. The most skilful and enthusiastic participants won enjoyable and delicious prizes consisting of grilling-season products from Hellmann’s and NOO Cepeškungs. To keep the fun going for the foodies throughout the rest of the evening, guests were also invited to take part in other entertainment activities, posing by the special Hellmann’s photo wall, playing table football, spinning the wheel of fortune and taking their time to enjoy the summer atmosphere of the evening.
