With the Support of Talsi Municipality, a Project Has Been Completed – the Latvian Schoolchildren’s Photography Competition “My Beautiful Land”

With the support of Talsi Municipality, the Latvian schoolchildren’s photography competition “My Beautiful Land” was held in schools. A total of 220 schools from across Latvia took part in the first round of the project, submitting 5,914 entries. Talsi Municipality was represented in the competition by 14 educational institutions.

The works by the students who received the most votes—1,782 of all the submitted entries—were made into photographic paintings and exhibited in schools to present them to the wider public, as well as to delight the project participants, students and teaching staff of the educational institutions.

Fourteen schools from Talsi Municipality participated in the project: Lībagi Primary School, Pastende Basic School, Pūņi Basic School, Vandzene Basic School, Sabile Basic School, Talsi State Gymnasium, Valdemārpils Secondary School, Talsi Primary School, Upesgrīva Boarding Basic School, Virbi Basic School, Stende Basic School, Lauciene Basic School, Talsi Secondary School No. 2 and Talsi Christian Secondary School.

The competition organisers expressed their appreciation for the involvement of educational institutions from Talsi Municipality in this activity.

Thanks were also expressed to SIA “Inturs”, SIA “VIKA WOOD”, SIA “Taimiņš” and the farm “Paegļi” for their support in implementing the project in Talsi Municipality.
