Zeimuļs Eastern Latvia Creative Services Centre Announces Competition for Non-Formal Education Programmes

In order to continue the operation of the non-formal education system in the city of Rēzekne and consolidate what has already been established, while providing children and young people with meaningful leisure opportunities, the Zeimuļs Eastern Latvia Creative Services Centre (hereinafter referred to as the Zeimuļs Creative Services Centre) announces a competition for non-formal education programmes for the 2021/2022 academic year.

The Zeimuļs Creative Services Centre invites educators to submit non-formal education programmes (documents reflecting the planned course of the process) to be implemented during the 2021/2022 academic year.

We remind you that, when developing non-formal education programmes, the main objectives of non-formal education must be taken into account:

-    - develop learners’ talents, abilities and diverse competences;

-    - strengthen children’s and young people’s national identity, patriotism and civic consciousness;

-    - foster attitudes towards values that are important to society, and acquire knowledge of cultural and historical heritage and cultural values;

-    - promote learners’ socialisation and civic participation, as well as career guidance (professional careers);

-    - introduce students to the world of professions and provide information about further education and labour-market opportunities.

A non-formal education programme may be submitted by 17 May 2021 (inclusive) by sending it to Olita Kuksa, the non-formal education methodologist at the Zeimuļs Creative Services Centre, at olita.kuksa@rezekne.lv. Non-formal education programmes may be submitted by applicants with a pedagogical education. If someone has higher education, but it is not related to pedagogy, Rēzekne Academy of Technologies offers 72-hour pedagogy courses where participants can acquire the necessary knowledge and a certificate. The programmes must be prepared in accordance with the programme templates and recommendations developed by the Zeimuļs Creative Services Centre.

We welcome both previously implemented and new non-formal education programmes that will provide children and young people with opportunities for development and meaningful use of their free time! We particularly wish to reach out to educators working in technical creativity (electronics) and environmental education programmes!
