Free Latvian language courses for Riga residents in 2019; do not miss the opportunity to apply!

Applications for the Riga municipal free Latvian language courses open on Monday, 11 February.

Riga residents who have declared their place of residence in Riga and are not school students or unemployed will be able to learn Latvian free of charge at A and B levels.

To identify organisations that could provide Riga residents with the opportunity to learn Latvian at A and B levels in 2019, a project competition entitled “Organisation and implementation of Latvian language courses for residents of the city of Riga” was held. As a result of the competition, 7 projects will be implemented for a total amount of EUR 138,495.25, including EUR 130,968.72 in funding from the Riga City Council Education, Culture and Sports Department.

Please note that places fill up very quickly, so it is best to call and register immediately.

Riga residents must choose the training venue themselves (from the attached list) and submit an application to the organisation (electronically or by calling the indicated telephone number). For the convenience of Riga residents, courses are generally held at various locations in Riga and at different times of day—both in the mornings and in the evenings.
