THE “PUĶUZIRNIS” FAMILY SUPPORT CENTRE ASSOCIATION PRESENTS ITS NEWLY CREATED WEBSITE
For a month now, the “Puķuzirnis” Family Support Centre association has been implementing the project “Comprehensive Support Measures to Reduce Social Exclusion among Young People and Families with Children”. During this time, many activities have already been launched. To inform the wider public about the progress of the project, an information seminar was organised on the afternoon of 16 May, in the spirit of International Family Day.
During the event, the youngest visitors were especially pleased to hear Dzidra Rinkule–Zemzare’s fairy tale “The Power of Friendship”. Its main character—a sweet pea—grew from a tiny sprout into a magnificent flower, encountering difficulties and receiving the support of friendship as it grew. Drawing a parallel with real life, it should be noted that from the few families that joined together in the association at the end of last year, “Puķuzirnis” has now blossomed into an association of more than 20 families, totalling nearly 100 people (as members’ families have between one and five children), and its activities have gained considerable momentum. Inese Matisāne, Chair of the association’s board, addressed the families and thanked them for their active participation.
During the event, project manager Iveta Šņepste provided information about the activities planned within the project, their schedules and target groups, the expected results, the specialists involved and the project funding. This information was also prepared in a clear handout format so that anyone interested could learn more about the activity of interest to them.
One of the most important measures implemented during the project’s first month was the creation of the association’s website. During the event, website administrator Sanita Bogdanova presented it, introducing its sections and demonstrating how easily users can add activities of interest to their personal planners so as not to miss anything important. Another significant achievement was the development of the association’s logo, for which thanks are due to Jana Skrivļa–Čevere and her support team. Those present were able to see the logo during the event. Thanks also go to the administration of Preiļi State Gymnasium for providing premises for the website presentation.
It was a pleasure to hear the positive feedback from those who had already taken part in one of the activities. We also encourage everyone to remain active and follow the information on the association’s website at www.pukuzirnis.lv.
