Centralised examination results confirm: Salaspils Secondary School No. 1 is among the best schools

The indicators for the 2018 compulsory centralised examinations (CEs) have been published on the Ministry of Education and Science’s official website, in the Schools Map: according to the CE index, Salaspils Secondary School No. 1 achieved 64.5% and ranked 22nd among Latvia’s 322 secondary schools and gymnasiums.

The past year was also significant for Salaspils Secondary School No. 1 because of several other important events:

• The school accreditation process was completed, and accreditation was granted until 2 May 2024.
• The school was awarded the title of a Latvian Eco-School and the title of European Parliament Ambassador School.
• The educational portal Uzdevumi.lv is being actively used in the learning process: during the first semester, students solved 99,979 tasks, and teachers assigned 299 digital tests.
• In the field of modern technology, students began learning how to use 3D printers.
• In 2018, student mini-companies were actively involved in business activities: a Grade 12 team won the competition “My Business Plan for a Latvian Castle or Manor” with a business plan for Varakļāni Manor.
• Within the Nord Plus project, our secondary school students are participating in the learning process at Koidula Gymnasium in Pärnu, carrying out research projects. In March this year, our Estonian cooperation partners will in turn spend a week visiting Salaspils Secondary School No. 1.
• We marked Latvia’s centenary responsibly, patriotically and with respect. The greatest achievement was the self-initiated “School Bag for Latvia” project by the Grade 12 “Latvia-100” team, as a result of which a total of 27 different educational events took place at the school.
• Our selfless support for charitable causes continued: students helped animal shelters in Tukums and “Mežavairogi”, made Christmas gifts at the Salaspils Social Centre, and, as part of the “Delight the Children” campaign, cooperated with children’s homes in the municipalities of Valka, Rēzekne and Madona.
• In December, a series of sessions was launched for parents of primary school pupils: “Opportunities for developing attention, memory, imagination, perception and thinking to help children integrate more successfully into the learning process”. The sessions will continue until the end of the school year.
• Purposeful cooperation with pre-school educational institutions and Salaspils Secondary School No. 2 continues.

In the new year, Salaspils Secondary School No. 1 will continue pursuing its goals with the conviction that, first, each of us individually and then all of us together, through trust-based cooperation, can accomplish work that inspires us and enables us to achieve results that make us more enterprising, independent and united!
