Daugavpils University (DU) and the Daugavpils City Education Department (DPIP) are holding the Scientific Research Paper Competition for students of general secondary education institutions in the Latgale region for the seventh consecutive year. Students in Grades 10–12, as well as students of vocational secondary schools and vocational schools who have conducted research in one of the scientific fields, are invited to participate.
The competition is organised with the aim of deepening students’ knowledge in the natural sciences, humanities, social sciences and engineering, introducing students to the subjects and methods of modern scientific research, and involving them directly in the development of research.
To participate in the competition, participants are invited to prepare research papers in the fields of the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences or engineering and submit them for assessment at their schools. Schools organise the assessment of students’ scientific research papers and nominate the best papers for the regional conference by 25 February 2016 (postmark date).
