Ghetto Games
On May 13th, the youth street sports and cultural movement 'Ghetto Games' will open its 15th anniversary season at the Grīziņkalns Sports Complex, lasting until August. Ghetto Games is a youth street sports and cultural movement in Latvia and Eastern Europe, gathering over 10,000 participants and 300,000 followers in media and social networks each year. It involves both established athletes and young people who have the opportunity to showcase their skills. This year, the first stage of the Baltic 3x3 League will be a special event of the competition.
Within the Ghetto Games program, there will be 18 'Ghetto Basket' stages, each offering competitions in various age groups and professional leagues. Several stages will take place not only in Riga, but also in Daugavpils, Valmiera, Ventspils, as well as in neighboring countries such as Estonia and Lithuania. The Superfinal will be held in Ventspils, where a ticket to the 'Lausanne Masters FIBA' 3x3 tournament will be up for grabs. The annual 'Ghetto Basket' tournaments for both men and women's teams will not be forgotten, along with the 'Ghetto Fight' fighting tournament, 'Ghetto Dance' dance competition, 'Ghetto Football' and 'Ghetto Football' tournaments. There will also be an international football tournament called 'Ghetto Football World Cup 2023' with participants from Europe, Japan, and South America.
