Heartwarming celebration for “Madara” and other support centres—we create hope and joy together!
On Saturday, 18 January 2025, Rauna Cultural Centre became a place of warmth, love and joy, where families, foster families and children from various regions gathered to experience an unforgettable celebration together.
Children and families from a wide range of support centres
The event was attended by the “Madara” Support Centre for Young Mothers and Pregnant Women, the Allaži Children’s and Family Support Centre, the Smiltene Children’s and Family Support Centre, the Valmiera SOS Children’s Village, foster families from the Cēsis district and the Rauna Social Centre. Everyone made new friends and enjoyed heartwarming experiences that will continue to inspire them long after the event.
A day full of joy and creative freedom
- Artists’ performances. Gacho, Dzeguzīte, Marina Onackaja, Mariuss Grencis, Imants Ilgažs, DJ Pupa and Lingita Lina Bopulu made the day truly unforgettable with their talent and positive energy.
- Creative workshops. Mandala artist Daina Liepiņa and the leaders of the handicraft groups encouraged participants to express themselves through art. Children and adults alike enjoyed the opportunity to create beautiful works together—keepsakes that will remain in their memories for a long time.
- Photographic moments. Photographers Viktorija Koposova and Santa Sudraba ensured that every precious moment was captured in heartfelt photographs.
“We gave it our all!”
One team member said after the event:
“Dear all, together we organised a fantastic celebration. I felt tremendous joy, pride and love—doing things together, celebrating together, sharing the experience together. We gave it our all! So many happy children, parents and foster parents. We drove home with smiles from ear to ear, and that feeling hasn’t ended even now, as I lie on the sofa with my feet up.”
These words perfectly capture the overall atmosphere—the joy and gratitude experienced that day continue to live on and filled everyone who was present.

Our support for “Madara” continues
Our care for the “Madara” Support Centre for Young Mothers and Pregnant Women does not end with this event. We will continue creating initiatives, collecting donations and supporting families both practically and emotionally. This day was only the beginning of a larger journey, in which everyone is invited to contribute so that young mothers and their babies can feel safe and cared for.
