The Ministry of Justice provides information on the procedure for conducting marriage ceremonies after the end of the state of emergency, from 1 March to 31 March 2022.

From 1 March, the following epidemiological safety requirements must be observed during marriage ceremonies held in the premises of a civil registry office or in a church:

·         indoors – a marriage may be registered provided that face masks are worn and a distance of 2 metres is observed. The permitted number of people is up to 250, taking into account the area of the ceremony venue and the requirement to prevent crowding;

·         outdoors – a marriage may be registered while observing a distance of 2 metres, for up to 250 people.

The Ministry of Justice draws attention to the fact that a marriage ceremony may take place either with or without checking vaccination or recovery certificates, provided that the two safety environments are physically separated and the flows of visitors in them do not overlap throughout the ceremony. The event may also take place only in an epidemiologically unsafe environment or only in an epidemiologically safe environment.

At the same time, wedding celebrations (a private event) may be attended by up to 250 people, and wearing face masks is not mandatory.

The basis for the restrictions is Cabinet Regulation No. 662 of 28 September 2021, “Epidemiological Safety Measures to Limit the Spread of Covid-19 Infection”.
