The Taste of Italian Life at Stāmeriena Castle

This is set to become a new tradition at Stāmeriena Castle—namely, organising Italian Days every year and placing Italian culture, art and traditions alongside Latvian culture, giving both local visitors and people from other countries the opportunity to enjoy it all. The event has also attracted the interest of the Italian Ambassador to Latvia.

This year’s Italian Days will tell the story of the barons of Stāmeriena Castle and their connections with Italy and Sicily. There will be readings of the love letters of Aleksandra Wolff and Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, Italian music will be performed and, of course, visitors will be able to enjoy Italian cuisine and wines, experience Marcello Argilli’s musical reading of the play “Harlequin’s Costume”, watch the concert performance “Funiculi, funicula!”—“Up and Down!” featuring Neapolitan songs, and attend a concert by the band “Rahu The Fool”.

Admission: for the 14.00 and 16.00 performances, €2.50 for schoolchildren and pensioners, and €5 for adults.

For the 18.00 performance, tickets cost €7 in advance. They can be purchased from “Biļešu serviss” and at Stāmeriena Castle. On the day of the event, tickets cost €10.
