The “Forget-Me-Nots” Exhibition

This year, the Riga Art Nouveau Centre has focused on the theme of forget-me-nots and created an exhibition dedicated to these flowers. The exhibition features applied art objects, interior decorations, tableware, books, postcards, and embroidery from the collections of eleven Latvian museums and several private collectors.

The oldest objects on display are perfume vessels from the second half of the 18th century, in which forget-me-not flowers are incorporated into lavish floral compositions. Forget-me-nots gained particular popularity during the Art Nouveau period and adorn both home interiors and everyday objects. The flowers were often dried and enclosed with letters.

The exhibition is on view at the “Riga Art Nouveau Centre” Museum from 26 May to 27 September. On the museum’s working days, 10:00–18:00 (closed on Mondays).
