Exhibition 'Riga - Little Paris'
From April 19th to August 27th, the Aleksandra Caka Museum is hosting an art exhibition by artist Ira Rozentale titled 'Riga - Little Paris'. The artworks are inspired by the opportunity to work and showcase her work in Paris, and to experience the rhythm and colors of the city. The artist has mentioned that when the car stopped in front of the art gallery, where my paintings were currently exhibited, she was surprised as she looked around, enjoying the first moments of the Paris she had dreamed of since childhood - the bridge over the Seine, the Notre-Dame Cathedral. All the buildings seemed to have preserved centuries of history. I was able to paint in a small room of the gallery just a few minutes away from the cathedral. At that moment, I realized how similar Paris is to our Riga! Visitors will have the opportunity to see for themselves and agree or disagree.
As we know, Aleksandrs Caks often poeticized Riga, looking at the city from perspectives that we often don't think about. Let's see if Ira Rozentale has also noticed various things in both Riga and Paris, showing the similarities and differences.
