Opening of the Exhibition “Silver Light”
On September 6, at 1:00 PM, the Rainis Museum “Jasmuiža” (Aizkalne, Preiļi District) will host the opening of the solo exhibition “Silver Light” by jewelry artist Anita Savicka, founder of the brand “Anita Sondore”. This heartfelt exhibition is the artist’s tribute to her native region, family, and friends, as well as a symbolic dialogue with Rainis’s worldview.
About her first solo exhibition at Jasmuiža, Anita Savicka says: “The title is borrowed from Jānis Rainis's work “Silver Light”. Rainis, through his poetry and worldview, invited us to attentiveness, the pursuit of beauty, and nurturing the inner light of a person. This idea also permeates my creative world. In the creation of jewelry, inspiration comes from the landscapes of Latgale – the silvery reflections of light, the delicate dialogue of textures and forms.”
The exhibition features more than 20 pieces of jewelry – rings, earrings, and necklaces that have won awards and prestigious A’Design Awards in Italy and the USA, as well as entirely new pieces that reveal the diversity of the artist's signature style. In her work, Anita Savicka uses precious metals – silver and gold, magnificent gemstones including diamonds, sapphires, semi-precious stones, minerals, and even feathers, creating a sophisticated interplay of materials that unveils the unique character of her jewelry.
Anita Savicka turned to jewelry design over 12 years ago, and her very first works received prestigious awards in international competitions. Anita Savicka graduated from the Master’s program at the Metal Design Department of the Art Academy of Latvia, having previously studied jewelry art at the Ermini family studio in Rome and attended masterclasses in Florence and Paris. Her works have been recognized at international exhibitions and competitions – JA New York Show (New York), JCK Las Vegas (USA), Artistar Jewels (Milan), Venice Design Week (Venice), as well as A’Design Awards (Italy), where she has been awarded silver and bronze prizes and has served as a jury member since 2019.
