Embroidered Stories – A Guide to a Creative Journey
From July 4 to August 31, the Rainis Museum “Jasmuiža” (in Aizkalne, Preiļi Municipality) will host an exhibition of jewelry and embroidery by artist Irēna Šteinberga titled “Embroidered Stories – A Guide to a Creative Journey.” The artist is widely known for her brand “Irena Gasha embroideries,” and this exhibition offers a unique opportunity to explore her creative work spanning more than twenty years.
“Irena Gasha embroideries” is the brand name of embroidery artist Irēna Šteinberga. The exhibition features various embroideries crafted with high technical skill. Of particular note are the works created while studying at the prestigious École Lesage in Paris – they vividly reveal Irēna's individual style, which seamlessly blends antique and modern materials, contemporary vision, and exceptional technical skill.
The artist has gained international acclaim, participated in significant exhibitions, and received awards in Paris, Milan, and Tokyo, with these fashion capitals becoming indispensable parts of her creative world. Her creations are found in private collections worldwide, with ongoing demand. The works displayed at “Jasmuiža” are part of the artist’s personal collection, preserved as a family heritage.
