Separate containers provided for the disposal of disposable tableware

In order to limit the spread of Covid-19, a state of emergency has been declared until 11 January 2021. Along with extending the state of emergency, the Cabinet of Ministers has also introduced additional restrictions in the field of education – from 7 December, in-person learning may take place only in kindergartens and Grades 1–4, while learning in Grades 5–12 takes place remotely.

The Ogre Municipality ensures free lunches for learners whose place of residence is declared in the administrative territory of Ogre Municipality, whose learning process takes place remotely or who have been placed in quarantine, and who meet certain criteria.

 

During the period when lunches are provided to pupils, disposable tableware may, starting from 8 December, be deposited at waste-sorting points in containers designated specifically for this purpose at two locations in Ogre:

SIA “Ogres Namsaimnieks” will provide a container for sorting disposable tableware at 12 Zilokalnu Prospekt;

SIA “Ķilupe” will provide a container for sorting disposable tableware at 43b Akmeņu Street.

As the number of pupils studying remotely increases, so does the number of recipients of free lunches and, consequently, the amount of disposable tableware. Therefore, the municipality invites residents to use the containers provided.
