Skaistkalne resident Svetlana Štrobindere among the best postal workers according to customers

In the competition “My Postman 2018” organised by the state-owned joint-stock company Latvijas Pasts, Svetlana Štrobindere of the Skaistkalne post office in Vecumnieki Municipality was recognised by customers as the best post office operator in the Zemgale region, the company’s representative Vineta Danielsone informed the portal.

The “My Postman 2018” competition organised by Latvijas Pasts identified the company’s most responsive, communicative and courteous postmen and post office operators, as rated by customers, in each region of Latvia. In total, 1,686 postmen or post office operators were nominated in one of the categories. A total of 8,556 customer questionnaires were received.

Mārcis Vilcāns, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, is pleased with the high level of customer participation: “This year we have received the largest number of votes to date, clearly indicating that, in the eyes of residents, the work carried out by our postmen and post office operators is truly highly valued. We thank our employees for their conscientious and professional work, as well as everyone who submitted a questionnaire for taking the time to help determine the best postal worker!”

In the questionnaires, residents assessed the postal workers’ professional qualities—their sense of responsibility towards their work, communication skills, courtesy, accuracy and knowledge—and also particularly highlighted their human qualities, since in rural homesteads the postman is often the most important or even the only link with the outside world.

The best postmen and post office operators, as rated by customers, will receive valuable prizes from Latvijas Pasts and will be honoured at special annual reporting events in each region.

Vineta Danielsone explained that Latvijas Pasts had invited residents for the eighth time to rate the best postman and post office operator in each region, highlighting their professional abilities and expressing gratitude for their good work. The questionnaires for the “My Postman 2018” competition were sent out at the beginning of October 2018 together with the Latvijas Pasts subscription catalogue; they could also be completed and submitted online at http://anketa.pasts.lv/.
