On the evening of March 30th, the winners of the book design competition "Golden Apple 2022" were awarded in the Ziedonis Hall of the National Library of Latvia. The title of Artist of the Year was awarded to Madara Krieviņa.

·          In the category "Poetry", the prize was awarded to Arta Ostupa's poetry collection "Variations on the Theme of the Moon". Published by "Neputns", designed by Armands Zelčs.

·          In the category "Prose", the prize was awarded to Agnes Rutkeviča's essay collection "The Melancholic Times". Published by "Aminori", designed by Anna Aizsilniece.

·          In the category "Books for Children", the prize was awarded to Žebera's poetry collection "Ejas un asakas". Published by "liels un mazs", designed by Artis Briedis and illustrated by Andris Breže.

·          In the category "Books for Young Adults", the prize was awarded to Luīze Pastore's book "Raiņa ielas cirks". Published by "Neputns", designed by Aleksejs Muraško and illustrated by Ieva Jurjāne.

·          In the category "Documentary Publications", the prize was awarded to Jiržīs Holīks' "Vienotā Vidzeme and Foreign Horticulture". Facsimile edition with scientific commentaries. Published by "Turaida Museum Reserve", designed by DUE.

·          In the category "Scientific Literature", the prize was awarded to the collection of articles "Life by the Harbor". Published by "University of Latvia Institute of Literature, Folklore, and Art". Designed by Aleksejs Muraško.

·          In the category "Reference Literature", the prize was awarded to Aigars Nords' book "Wine and the North".
Published by "Nords Event Communications". Designed by Madara Krieviņa, who also received the title of Artist of the Year.

·          In the category "Art Publications", the prize was awarded to Arnis Balčus' book "Latvian Photography 2022 (Another Boring Publication about Latvian Photography...)". Published by "Kultkom Modern Culture Center", designed by Aleksejs Muraško.

Madara Krieviņa, the designer of the books "Wine and the North" and "Atslēgas", was awarded the title of Artist of the Year.

Out of the selection of books published last year, 52 publishers submitted 102 books for the competition, which were evaluated by the jury: artist Roberts Koļcovs (chairman of the jury), artist and professor of the Latvian Academy of Art Juris Petraškevics, director of Riga State Technical School and printing expert Dagnija Vanaga, representative of "Arctic Paper" Lolita Butāne, and designer Miķelis Baštiks.
