Latvian TV Series 'Pansija Castle'

From January 22, 2024, viewers will be able to watch the first two episodes of the new TV series 'Pansija Castle,' which is based on the novel of the same name by writer Anšlavs Eglītis. 'Pansija Castle' is one of the most famous novels by Anšlavs Eglītis. It tells the story of the Eglītis family, who decide to establish a guesthouse in their manor. Eglītis talks about his life there, colorful guests, his efforts in sports, and mentions many representatives of the intelligentsia he meets and works with, such as writer Edvarts Virza, painter Voldemārs Toni, and publisher Miķelis Gopers.

The actors Gundars Āboliņš, Rihards Zelezņevs, Guna Zariņa, Vilis Daudziņš, Kaspars Znotiņš, Juris Strenga, Dana Bjorka, Dace Eversa, Lāsma Kugrēna, Olga Dreģe, Jānis Jarāns, Alise Dzene, Kaspars Dumburs, Lauris Dzelzītis, Artūrs Skrastiņš, Jēkabs Reinis, Gatis Malik, Inese Kučinska, and others will portray the characters from Eglītis' novel in the film.

The directors of the film are Andis Mizišs, Marta Elīna Martinsone, Dāvis Sīmanis, and for the documentary series, Gints Grūbe. The cinematographer is Andrejs Rudzāts, the producers are Inese Boka-Grūbe and Gints Grūbe, the script was written by Tabita Rudzāte and Ivo Briedis, the production designer is Kristīne Jurjāne, the artist is Jānis Kalniņš, the makeup artist is Ilze Trumpe, and the costume designers are Kristīne Jurjāne and Rūta Kuplā.

The action of the novel takes place in Inciems, a village in Turaida parish, while the filming took place in the surroundings of Kuldīga district and Padure Manor.

Several episodes of the series will be shown in cinemas in one screening: episodes 1 and 2 from January 22, episodes 3 and 4 from February 8, episodes 5, 6, and 7 from February 22, and the documentary series will have special screenings after February 22.

The series was produced by 'Mistrus Media' film studio.
