Latvian celebrities take part in a photo project supporting an animal shelter

On Saturday, 11 March, at Riga nightclub JUST, a presentation will be held of the social photo project I Am Your Friend, dedicated to abandoned animals and created with the participation of famous Latvian personalities. The funds collected during the event will be donated to the Tukums Animal Shelter.

Twelve popular local personalities took part in the photo project: television presenter and beauty pageant organiser Kristīne Lindenblante, plus-size model Tatjana Mackeviča, successful businesswoman and renowned journalist Svetlana Lev, fashion blogger Deniss Ševeļovs, and others. All of them are happy pet owners, and some once adopted their beloved animals from a shelter. The event organisers, SilverStein Production, chose to draw people’s attention to abandoned animals, which are in great need of our help and support. This idea was brought to life and represented in visual form by photographer Dmitrijs Makarovs at the Riga photo studio Osy.lv. His works show us two realities—with and without a pet. The project’s stylists are Jeļena Dubakova and Marija Stukāne, together with the Latvian brand Basque.

As part of the charity event, an auction and mini-market featuring works by renowned Latvian designers will be held. In addition, anyone who wishes will be able to leave donations in special boxes. All funds collected will be given to the residents of the Tukums Animal Shelter.

The project’s main idea is to show that our lives without a pet are gloomy and endlessly sad, and how they change when a pet enters them.

Guests at the event will enjoy performances by such famous Latvian artists as Rūta Dūduma, Sabīne Berezina, Laura Raila, Vita Baļčunaite, and the duo Alekss Silvērs and Liera Štein.

Everyone who wishes to support our little friends, who are in great need of our help, is warmly welcome to the presentation.

Don’t be indifferent!
