Last week, on 27 February, the winter season at the Lemberga Hūte ski hill came to an end with entertaining runs down the slope. This season was special both because activities took place in compliance with epidemiological safety regulations and because the weather conditions were suitable for making it possible to enjoy the longest skiing and snowboarding season at Lemberga Hūte in the past decade. The hill opened to visitors on 13 January, and the winter season lasted 46 consecutive days.
The hill’s lifts were used nearly 9,000 times for skiing and snowboarding, while the cross-country skiing trail was used more than 500 times. This season, Lemberga Hūte offered beginner and advanced trails, a free sledding hill, and a cross-country skiing trail.
The Lemberga Hūte ski hill first opened in December 2005, making this its fifteenth season. During its first season, the hill was only 22 m high, whereas today its summit reaches 58 m above sea level and the slope is 240 m long.
To bid farewell to winter with joy in their hearts, active recreation enthusiasts were invited to make entertaining runs down the hill at the end of the season, create a video, and submit it for voting. The submitted videos will be compiled, and it will be possible to vote for them on the Ventspils Olympic Centre’s Facebook account. The most creative and entertaining participants will be awarded in four categories: “Most Spectacular Design”, “Most Entertaining Performance”, “Most Original Vehicle”, and “Ready for the Beach Season”.
The Adventure Park grounds are currently closed to visitors. The winter equipment is being removed from the hill, and preparations are under way for the summer season, which traditionally begins at the Adventure Park in May. We wish active recreation enthusiasts a sunny and healthy spring. See you on the skiing and snowboarding slopes next season!
