Riga Airport’s business lounge receives the highest rating in the Skytrax COVID-19 safety rating
The Primeclass-branded business lounges at Riga Airport and Muscat International Airport received a five-star rating for the high-level epidemiological safety measures introduced to reduce the risks associated with COVID-19. The operator of the Primeclass-branded business lounges is TAV Operation Services, a company belonging to the TAV Airports and Groupe ADP holding group.
TAV Operation Services Executive Director Güēlü Batkin says: "We are pleased that the Primeclass business lounges in Muscat and Riga have received the world’s first Skytrax five-star COVID-19 safety certificate awarded to an independent business lounge operator. During the pandemic, travellers expect their journey to be not only comfortable and quick, but also supported by a new level of health and safety measures. We care about our customers by implementing enhanced hygiene measures at all points of contact and maintaining high standards for food and beverages. We are committed to ensuring a similar level of health and safety standards, together with enhanced comfort, in all our business lounges worldwide."
The Skytrax COVID-19 Safety Rating for Business Lounges certifies the safety and hygiene measures implemented by airline and airport business lounge operators, ensuring that the lounges meet the highest standards and guarantee an enhanced level of safety for customers and staff. During the Skytrax audit, more than 150 safety protocols relating to both facilities and employees are assessed, and ATP testing is conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of cleaning products and hygiene procedures.
Skytrax Executive Director Edward Plaisted: "I would like to congratulate Primeclass, which has become the first independent business lounge operator to receive five stars in the Skytrax Business Lounge Safety Rating. The Primeclass new hygiene comfort concept has been carefully implemented in the business lounges at Riga and Muscat airports, incorporating important health and safety principles such as social distancing, enhanced cleanliness and hygiene in the facilities, adapted catering services and contactless service options at key points of contact. The measures implemented are the main prerequisite for receiving the highest five-star rating, but consistent adherence to these protocols is also important, demonstrating a commitment to the health and safety of customers and employees."
Skytrax notes that both business lounges provide customers with clear and comprehensible guidance regarding the use of face masks, health monitoring, hand hygiene, social distancing and movement etiquette.
In addition, as part of the audit, the Primeclass business lounge at Riga Airport also received the high four-star rating in the Skytrax Business Lounge Rating for its overall service quality and excellent level of service.
