Applications for receiving the “I Was Born in Sigulda Municipality” medal remain open until 20 December

In August, in the garden of Sigulda New Castle, Uģis Mitrevics, Chair of the Sigulda Municipality Council, congratulated residents born in the first half of 2020 and their families at the ceremonial “I Was Born in Sigulda Municipality” event. Families who were unable to attend the event are invited to complete an electronic application on the e.sigulda.lv portal by 20 December and collect their medals at the municipality’s Service Centre by 30 December. The Service Centre is currently open on weekdays from 10.00 to 12.00.

If the epidemiological situation permits, the next event honouring newborns is planned for the first half of 2021, when residents born in the second half of 2020 will be congratulated. Registration for the event on e.sigulda.lv is planned from 4 to 31 January 2021.

The event, at which every newborn resident declared in Sigulda Municipality receives from the Chair of the Municipality Council a specially designed medal engraved with the municipality’s coat of arms, the child’s year of birth and the outline of Sigulda New Castle, has been held since 2012. More information about organising the event and applying both to attend the event and to receive the medal can be found in the regulations “On Organising the Sigulda Municipality Newborn Event ‘I Was Born in Sigulda Municipality’”.
