Over the past year, since the first KFC restaurant featuring the new concept opened at the Akropole shopping and entertainment centre, the company, under the management of franchise owner Apollo Group, has experienced steady growth and continued to strengthen its position in the Latvian market. Thus, within the next few months, three new KFC chain restaurants are planned to open in Riga. They will be located in popular shopping and entertainment destinations and offer a high level of customer service and quality in line with the brand’s global standards. The company is currently actively seeking new employees who, after completing professional training, will soon fill some of the many available positions.

The first of the new KFC restaurants will open at Domina shopping centre in early September, followed shortly afterwards, in mid-September, by the opening of a restaurant at Alfa shopping centre. This will ensure that residents who spend their daily lives outside the city centre can also conveniently reach one of the KFC locations. Both new restaurants will follow a unified brand style, featuring modern, bright interiors and open kitchens that embody the characteristic values of a classic American diner. Customers will also have access to digital menus and self-service checkout counters, making their dining experience especially convenient and modern. In addition to KFC’s famous chicken wings, drumsticks and fillets, the restaurant menus will include a variety of other widely popular dishes, ranging from snacks, burgers, tortillas and sandwiches to desserts and beverages prepared according to traditional KFC recipes, using carefully selected ingredients and adhering to the highest quality standards.

In addition to the two new KFC restaurants at Domina and Alfa shopping centres, another restaurant will open in October in the very centre of Riga, at the recently renovated and reopened Origo shopping centre. It will become the new home of Latvia’s first KFC restaurant, which was previously located in Riga’s Old Town at 14 Audēju Street. Importantly, all KFC restaurants in Latvia and the Baltics are currently observing special COVID-19 precautionary measures to protect the safety of employees and visitors and ensure the highest hygiene standards, a contactless ordering and collection process, as well as compliance with the two-metre distancing requirement. Special attention will also be devoted to training new and existing employees abroad with leading industry professionals. By the end of this year, a training centre is also planned to be established in Latvia, where customer service standards will be learned by waiters and shift supervisors, as well as restaurant managers and their assistants, who currently form a team of 170 people in the Baltic market.

“Seeing that KFC’s offering is becoming increasingly popular in Latvia, we are truly delighted to be opening not just one, but three new and modern brand restaurants this year, designed and equipped to fully meet the expectations of our local customers. We are ready to work even more actively, providing modern solutions and the highest quality standards in addition to delicious KFC meals. We believe that the new restaurants will also become popular destinations for Riga residents and visitors. It should also be noted that all KFC restaurants opened in Latvia are part of the company’s further development strategy in the Baltics, which envisages expanding the chain by up to 20 new restaurants within the next three years,” comments KFC board member Mauri Dorbek.
