Liepāja-based “Gizzo Grill” takes second place at an international exhibition in the USA

From 14 to 16 March, the international HPBExpo exhibition was held in Dallas, Texas, where the Liepāja-based company “Gizzo Grill” also participated with its product—a portable grill. According to the visitors’ vote, the product manufactured in Latvia took second place in the “Best New Product” category, reports Dāvis Paipa, founder of SIA “Gizzo”.

The exhibition was held for the 40th time, and every year it is attended by thousands of barbecue, grill and outdoor recreation equipment distributors, carriers, retail chain representatives, entrepreneurs and project managers from around the world. According to the visitors’ vote, the “Gizzo” grill took second place in the “Best New Product” category, losing out to “EcoGrill” from Denmark—a disposable grill that decomposes in nature after use.

“Gizzo Grill” stands were located both in the new products section and in the main hall. Many exhibition visitors were impressed by the fact that the grill was made in Latvia rather than China, which often indicates a higher-quality product. Although the stand was simpler than those of the other participants, the product itself stood out because it was the only grill of its type and configuration.

Company representative Mārtiņš Bergholcs on participating in the exhibition: “We gained tremendous experience at the exhibition, as well as new friends, contacts and opportunities for future cooperation. Even those for whom grills are not their field said that our idea was excellent. The kind words gave us a boost of motivation and strengthened our faith in the product. As they say, your own child always seems the best to you, but when someone else says it, you really become convinced that it is so.” Speaking of future cooperation opportunities, the folding grill attracted the interest of companies from Japan, Australia, the United States, Mexico and even Saudi Arabia.

Overall, the visitors’ feedback was positive. During the exhibition, the team had to disassemble and reassemble the grill as many as 500 times. People could not believe that it was truly foldable, easy to carry and did not take up much space. After returning to Latvia, work began on following up with the newly acquired contacts and preparing proposals. The company also plans to participate in other exhibitions abroad, as well as here in Latvia.

SIA “Gizzo” produces the world’s first portable grill that fits into a bag the size of a laptop bag. It is intended for people who want to enjoy nature without carrying bulky equipment. The folding grill is convenient and comes with all the necessary grilling accessories. The product takes up little space, making it suitable for storage in an apartment and for transport by motor vehicle or watercraft.
