“MOSAIC” Exhibition of Master’s Theses by 2016 Graduates of the “Art” Master’s Study Programme

From 25 January to 26 February 2016, the foyer of the Institute of Art Sciences at DU (13 Vienības Street, 2nd floor) is hosting the exhibition MOSAIC of master’s theses by the 2016 graduates of the professional higher education master’s study programme “Art”.
The exhibition features the master’s theses of five graduates of this year’s master’s programme, specialising in Graphic Art, Painting and Textile Art. The works are presented by Daiga Vasiļjeva (specialisation: Graphic Art; supervisor – Ilze Lībiete, visiting associate professor at the IAS), Laura Kundziņa (specialisation: Painting; supervisor – Ingūna Liepa, lecturer at the IAS), Anita Karpenko (specialisation: Painting; supervisor – Viktorija Valujeva, lecturer at the IAS), Liene Roze Zarembo and Līga Veigule (specialisation: Textile Art; supervisor – Ieva Krūmiņa, visiting professor at the IAS).
Visually, technically and conceptually distinct works of art, joining together like fragments of a mosaic in a colourful ornament, demonstrate both the creative journey of each artist and contribute a shared page to the history of the “Art” master’s study programme and Daugavpils University.
Wishing the graduates success in the national and international art world, the Institute of Art Sciences dedicates the MOSAIC exhibition to the 95th anniversary of Daugavpils University!
The programme director and exhibition curator is Zeltīte Barševska, director of the Institute of Art Sciences of the DU Faculty of Music and Arts.
The exhibition features the master’s theses of five graduates of this year’s master’s programme, specialising in Graphic Art, Painting and Textile Art.
