In response to ever-growing demand, as of November this year it is possible to pay for EV charging services through the widest network in the Mobilly mobile app. In addition to the “e-mobi” CSDD network stations and several private charging points previously available there, Elektrum stations throughout Latvia have also been added, making the EV charging process even faster and more convenient.

According to statistics compiled by the CSDD, at the end of 2022 there were 3,478 electric vehicles registered in Latvia, and their number had increased by 60% since the beginning of the year. While in 2015 the number of electric vehicles registered in the country was just under two hundred, it is now almost 20 times higher, indicating residents’ desire to switch to more environmentally friendly means of transport. As the share of electric transport grows rapidly, so does the need for charging. In the Mobilly app, it is currently possible to pay for vehicle charging at 243 stations, with a total of 592 individual charging connectors, including those at petrol stations, making charging even more accessible to EV owners.

“Nowadays, people are increasingly choosing to purchase electric vehicles, yet the charging infrastructure in Latvia still lags behind. The electric vehicle market is also continuing to grow rapidly, which often leads to queues at charging locations. It is only natural that we need new EV charging stations. The EV charging payment function available in the Mobilly app is a convenient way to pay for vehicle charging in one place at most stations in Latvia. Moreover, it is widely available not only to individual customers but also to corporate clients, who are increasingly deciding in favour of switching to electric vehicles in their companies. This step is a forward-looking investment that will pay off in the long term as a considerably more cost-effective and responsible solution,” comments Mobilly Chairman of the Board Valdis Bergs.
