Routes 6, 9, 14 and 18 to be suspended from 21 December; daytime services on route 16 to be suspended 16.12.2020.
JAP informs passengers that other city buses operate in parallel with the suspended city public transport services, allowing passengers to reach their chosen destination. Gatis Dūmiņš, Head of JAP’s Transport Department, notes that the number of passengers has decreased significantly and that JAP is also lacking resources. "Our company employees are also falling ill, and some bus drivers are in quarantine; therefore, resources are limited and a solution must be found. In addition, these specific city public transport routes were also suspended during the state of emergency in the spring," explains G. Dūmiņš, adding that up-to-date information on changes to the bus timetable is available on the company’s website, www.jap.lv.
It should be emphasised that, since 7 December, additional safety requirements must be observed on public transport: the number of passengers permitted on public transport has been reduced by half, and passengers aged seven and over must wear face masks.
To maintain distance from others, passengers must not occupy seats marked with warning signs.
