Drukātava premises opened in Olaine Municipality
Today, 6 February, the official opening of SIA “Drukātava”’s new premises took place in Olaine Municipality.
At the opening ceremony, A. Bergs, Chair of the Olaine Municipal Council, said: “Olaine Municipality has always been, is and will be industrial, so I am truly pleased that existing businesses are developing here and new ones are arriving. We are delighted to welcome “Drukātava” – a company that has already demonstrated its sustainability and quality. We are proud of the company’s previous achievements and wish it success in fulfilling its plans!”
E. Alksne, Director of the Olaine Municipality Business Support Centre, expressed her conviction that “Drukātava” would establish successful cooperation with other businesses in the municipality, which could also contribute to an increase in the number of customers.
The company has been operating since 2005, but until now it rented premises, changing its location several times. At last, near Grēnes in Olaine Municipality, “Drukātava” has acquired its own premises, building both production and warehouse facilities.
“Drukātava” is located in Rasmaņi, Olaine Municipality (near Grēnes). Number of employees – 23. Number of copies printed per year – 240 000. Turnover – 1.3 million. The company operates profitably.
The company offers an exclusive opportunity to print a book in a single copy. It also offers book restoration services. “Drukātava” is still the only company specialising in digital book printing; in addition, it offers digitally printed business cards, catalogues, brochures, stickers and other printed materials. It is possible to publish both educational and academic literature, as well as doctoral theses. It exports 70% of its output, mainly to the Scandinavian countries.
For Latvia’s centenary, “Drukātava” prepared a unique publication – Aleksandrs Grīns’ novel “Blizzard of Souls”. The book was created as a work of art, bound in genuine leather and featuring special illustrations by Jānis Bērzs. The book is housed in an ash-wood box. The print run of the 810-page book is only 50 copies.
Representatives of many Latvian higher education institutions, which have been the company’s long-standing clients, also attended the opening ceremony.
