Photo Competition for Young People

The Information and Public Relations Division of the Augšdaugava Municipality Administration and the Youth Affairs Unit of the Education Department are announcing the photo competition “12 Moments in Augšdaugava Municipality”, inviting young people from the municipality to take part in creating the municipality’s 2027 calendar.

Any young person from Augšdaugava Municipality may participate in the competition, regardless of age, occupation or photography skills, by submitting an application in accordance with the procedure specified in the regulations.

The competition will take place from 4 February to 28 September 2026. The application and photographs saved on the failiem.lv platform must be sent by email to vestis@augsdaugavasnovads.lv with the subject line “For the Photo Competition”.

The photographs must depict landscapes of the nature, rural parishes or urban environments of Augšdaugava Municipality in different seasons.

Competition participants may submit only their own original works. The application form must include their contact information, the title of the photograph and its description in Latvian. One author may submit no more than 12 photographs.

Photograph requirements: JPEG format with an RGB or sRGB colour profile; horizontal orientation with an aspect ratio of 4:3; dimensions of at least 4000 × 3000 pixels; image resolution of at least 240 dpi; and the photograph must have been taken in Augšdaugava Municipality. Photographs must not contain logos, signatures, decorative elements or frames. Photographs must not be created using artificial intelligence programmes. The photograph file name must include the author’s first name and surname and the title of the photograph in Latvian, without diacritical marks (for example, MaijaBerzina_SaulrietsAmbelos).

When evaluating the photographs, their compliance with the requirements set out in the regulations will be taken into account (the submission procedure and deadline, and the works’ compliance with the purpose of the competition), as well as their technical and artistic quality (composition, execution, overall impression, clarity, quality, etc.). The evaluation will be carried out within one week after the competition ends.

The 12 best photographs will be included in the Augšdaugava Municipality Administration’s 2027 calendar. The authors of the 12 photographs selected for publication in the calendar will receive an Augšdaugava Municipality 2027 calendar and surprise prizes.
