Egils Gulbis Laboratory branch opened in Preiļi

On 10 June, the opening event of the Preiļi branch of E. Gulbis Laboratory took place on the fourth floor of the premises of SIA “Preiļu slimnīca”. As part of the event, those present had the opportunity to learn about the branch’s operations and service principles. The certified laboratory enjoys a good reputation in Latvia, as it is the largest clinical laboratory in the Baltics, where all materials obtained from humans or animals are examined to ensure disease diagnosis or health assessment.

At the formal opening, Valentīna Liniņa, a member of the Preiļi Municipality Council, thanked the hospital staff and doctors on behalf of the council for providing high-quality services, and thanked the laboratory’s management for enabling the residents of Preiļi Municipality to receive quality medical services, particularly complex clinical analyses, in the future.

Sandra Dimante, a member of the board of E. Gulbis Laboratory, reported that the former Preiļi laboratory premises had now been given a new layout adapted to European Union standards. A waiting room had been provided for patients, with a kiosk equipped with a scanner installed there. After submitting their samples, patients will be able to receive the results in printed form, in the number of copies they require, using a barcode. The former Preiļi laboratory technicians will continue working at the branch; to improve their laboratory work, they attended a week-long training course at the main E. Gulbis Laboratory in Riga. The management promises that the residents and doctors of Preiļi Municipality will benefit in the future, as it will be possible to receive test results more quickly.
