Preiļi Celebrates the White Tablecloth Festival

On a sunny Sunday evening, 1 May, residents of Preiļi Municipality and city visitors gathered at the Preiļi Cultural Centre to celebrate the White Tablecloth Festival dedicated to the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia.
The White Tablecloth Festival takes place in various locations throughout Latvia with the aim of establishing and strengthening the tradition of gathering around one table on 4 May in the company of family, friends, neighbours or the community, consciously celebrating the existence of their country and honouring those who helped create and safeguard it.
The festival was made especially memorable by the National Armed Forces Orchestra’s sonorous and patriotic concert /conductors Dainis Vuškāns and Andris Griezāns/, which was also joined by the choir of the State Border Guard College /conductor Kristīne Zeltiņa/.
