Preiļi Municipality Begins Work on Spatial Planning!

On the basis of the “Spatial Development Planning Law”, the Cabinet of Ministers’ “Regulations on Spatial Development Planning Documents of Local Governments” and the “General Regulations for Spatial Planning, Use and Development”, the council members voted at the council meeting on 30 April to initiate the preparation of the Spatial Plan of Preiļi Municipality, and also approved the terms of reference for its preparation.

The Spatial Plan will be prepared on the basis of the municipality’s sustainable development strategy, taking into account the requirements laid down in regulatory enactments on spatial planning, use and development, as well as assessing the planning documents of neighboring municipalities. The Spatial Plan will comprise an explanatory memorandum, a graphic section, and spatial use and development regulations. The Spatial Plan will be prepared using the Spatial Development Planning Information System /TAPIS/.

Vladimirs Ivanovs, Executive Director of the Preiļi Municipality Council, has been appointed head of the preparation of the Spatial Plan of Preiļi Municipality. The working group members are Vita Patmalniece, Head of the Real Estate Department of the Preiļi Municipality Council; Arvils Pundurs, Head of the Construction Board of the Preiļi Municipality Council; Aigars Zīmelis, Member of the Preiļi Municipality Council; and Sanita Meļko, Project Manager at the Development Department of the Preiļi Municipality Council.
