A Summer Stage Has Been Built and Two Bridges Renovated in Preiļi Park

Construction of a summer stage on Adam and Eve Islands and the renovation of two bridges began in Preiļi Park last autumn. According to Jānis Skutels, Head of the Technical Department of the Preiļi Municipality Council, the work has now been completed and the documentation is being finalised. The work was carried out by AS “Siguldas Būvmeistars”.

Residents and visitors to Preiļi can enjoy the white wooden bridge over the canal near Love Hill and the newly built summer stage with a viewing platform on Eve and Adam Islands. The bridge to the island, which had been dismantled many years ago, has also been restored. Both the stage and the bridges were built of wood in a uniform style and painted in light colours, in keeping with their historical appearance. 

The contractor will carry out landscaping work in spring, weather permitting. Painting work on the structures will also take place in spring.  

Funding of 115,000 euros for the reconstruction of the island and bridges in Preiļi Park was granted to Preiļi Municipality as a targeted grant from the state budget. The Preiļi Municipality Council allocated an additional 7,300 euros in necessary funding.
