Progressive Music and Art Festival “Progausis”

For the second summer in a row, the progressive music and art festival “Progausis” is taking place.
This year, the organisers have chosen the picturesque Kaive Parish in Cēsis Municipality. There, in the manor
park, music lovers and other admirers of good contemporary sound art will have a wonderful
opportunity to enjoy music that is not heard on commercial radio stations or at major summer
festivals. The musical spectrum will be broad—from unconventional academic music to
refined progressive metal, from classic art rock to modern jazz rock and meditative
post-rock. There will be two stages: all the musical “heaviness” will be presented on the main stage, while
the smaller stage will host musical experiments, performances by music-school students, “jam” sessions
and ambient nocturnal harmonies. Although the festival’s main focus is specifically on sound
art, other muses—literature and visual art—have not been forgotten.

Small stage: Oskars Upenieks, DJ Berg, a “jam” session led by Stoney Keys, and others.
Fine arts: illusionist Toms Felkers
Poetry and prose: Alise Mētra, Elīna Rībena, Madara Gruntmane, Jānis Elsbergs
Visual art: Andris Dukurs, Lola, Valters Kiršteins, and others.
On Saturday morning, Anna Golubeva will lead a coffee and dance ritual.
