“Little Flower Eyes” Drawing Masterclass from Aspazija’s House

The Aspazija’s House Museum invites you to the online drawing masterclass “Little Flower Eyes”, led by children’s book illustrator Gundega Muzikante. The class will take place on 15 April at 4:00 p.m. on the Zoom platform; advance registration is required by emailing aspazijas.maja@jurmala.lv.

Artist G. Muzikante will join the class on the Zoom platform from the exhibition “A Sunny Corner”, created at Aspazija’s House. It is a place where poppies, sweet peas and even the modest thistle bloom regardless of the season. During the drawing class, G. Muzikante will explain and show how everyone—young and old—can conjure flowers on paper with a pencil. “First there is a seed or a bulb, then a sprout, then a stem, a little bud, until the flower blooms. And what wonders there are in that little flower eye!” says the masterclass leader.

Gundega Muzikante and I. Dambe created the visually colourful exhibition “A Sunny Corner” at Aspazija’s House in September of last year. Children’s enthusiasm for the exhibition during its first weeks confirmed that the artists had succeeded in finding the right means of expression to help children of the 21st century feel and fall in love with Aspazija’s poetry.

Advance registration is required for the “Little Flower Eyes” flower-drawing class by writing to aspazijas.maja@jurmala.lv.
