"Tyres with a Heart": Latakko and Pirelli Key Point to Donate €10,000 to the Children’s Clinical University Hospital Foundation

Thanks to the “Tyres with a Heart” social project, launched in 2010, the Children’s Clinical University Hospital has received more than €78,000 to purchase modern equipment for treating and diagnosing childhood diseases.

The “Tyres with a Heart” project is organised by Latakko and its partner, the Pirelli Key Point franchise network.

“For every set of tyres sold, we donate €1.50. On 10 October, we will donate approximately another €10,000 to the Children’s Hospital Foundation,” says Jevgenijs Kopilkovs, the company’s director, commenting on the donation. “Latakko pays special attention to initiatives related to road safety. We are proud that “Tyres with a Heart” allows us to state with confidence that every tyre purchased is also a life given to a child.”

Jevgenijs Kopilkovs notes that over the eight years of its existence, the “Tyres with a Heart” social project has made a significant contribution to the treatment of complex childhood diseases and support for children: ventilators, phototherapy lamps, hearing-testing devices for newborns, inhalers, infant bed warmers and monitoring equipment, devices to facilitate the delivery of premature twins, as well as burn-treatment equipment, have been purchased.

“I cannot say how many children the “Tyres with a Heart” project has saved, but I think the exact number is not so important, because every human life is priceless.

An oak tree grows in the hospital courtyard. We planted it together with the doctors several years ago, when we made another donation,” says Jevgenijs. “Everyone knows that the oak symbolises stability and longevity. I truly hope that Latakko and Pirelli Key Point will continue implementing the project in 2019, as well as launch new projects related to safety on Latvia’s roads.
