The Riga Beer Quarter is not just one place - it is a collection of several places united by friendship, shared beliefs, and good beer.

Long ago – or maybe not so long ago, as it was on the occasion of Latvia's centenary, Valmiermuiža brewery together with friends decided to restore Riga's ancient reputation as the citadel of beer brewing in Northern Europe by joining forces in the Riga Beer Quarter.

In a unique location, right in the city center, among three historical breweries – the former buildings of the  Bier und Porterbrauerei und Malzfabrik C. Stritzky on A. Briāna Street, the giant buildings of C. L. Kymmel brewery at the corner of Bruņinieku and Valdemāra streets, and the Bierbrauerei Gust. Kuntzendorff brewery buildings – today there are ten pubs, all of which offer craft beer brewed in Latvia and the Baltic region.

The first to open its doors in this area was the Valmiermuiža beer embassy in Riga, soon joined by other brewers and traders.

The Riga Beer Quarter offers more than 200 flavors of Latvian beer from almost 30 breweries. Beer enthusiasts can always find something to suit their taste here.

Breweries of the Beer Quarter:

The Valmiermuiža beer embassy not only prides itself on its beer but also offers various events and concerts that can be attended in person. The Valmiermuiža beer embassy is located in a place where, a hundred years ago, the fon Stricka brewery, one of the largest in the Baltics, was in full swing.

Labietis, although located in an inconspicuous place, lacks no visitors because Labietis boasts not only a rich variety of beer but also its interesting beer names.

Zobens and Lemess is a pub often filled with the best Latvian and foreign heavy music. Pagans and folklore experts, musicians, and lovers of good beer – it all comes together here.

Walters & Grapa offers not only Latvian craft beer but also the best offerings from Lithuania's small breweries. Here, the most powerful DJs in Riga regularly take care of the musical backdrop, and events are held for their own and others' enjoyment.

Nurme offers beer straight from the brewery because the bar is located nearby. Visitors can go from one to the other and choose what they like best.

Alus Rūme Trofeja – a brewpub that is  Latvia's smallest brewery with a 170-liter brewing kettle. Yet, it welcomes its clients with a good offer and skillfully brewed beer.

Beer is a special thing, so everyone must find these  places for themselves. If someone wishes to visit them all in one go, a Beer Tour with 4 stops is offered. The tour lasts approximately 4 hours and includes a tasting of 12 types of beer.

Remember – taste with moderation, as only then can you enjoy high-quality drinks, which are best savored together with friends or like-minded people!
