Riga City Construction Board to Allow Goods to Be Issued Outside Shopping Centre Premises Without Approval
During the period of restrictions imposed in the country due to Covid-19, the Riga City Construction Board will allow previously purchased goods to be issued at specially designated collection points outside the premises of large shopping centres, without requiring businesses to obtain approval for such activities.
Restrictions are currently in place on the operation of shopping centres whose total retail area exceeds 7,000 square metres. Anticipating and understanding traders’ needs, the Construction Board has assessed the current situation and determined that, for the duration of the existing restrictions, the Construction Board’s approval will not be required for issuing previously purchased goods from architecturally designed collection points located outside shopping centre premises.
At the same time, the Construction Board points out that, when setting up such goods collection points, the requirements for the dimensions of Group One structures specified in Annex 1 to Cabinet Regulation No. 500 of 19 September 2014, “General Construction Regulations”, must be observed. Namely, the footprint of such structures may not exceed 25 square metres (60 square metres for prefabricated structures).
After the restrictions referred to above end, the area must be cleared of elements placed in this manner, or the placement of the elements must be approved in accordance with the procedure laid down in regulatory enactments.
